Seen Too Much

No one could understand it.  Why would Dr. Piper commit suicide in such a horrible way?  And at the very moment of his professional triumph!  The new comet was going to be named for him!

No one could understand, that was, until they started to clean up the charred remains of his office and found a page of his notes that had escaped the fire, singed at the edges but still legible:

“It has eyes.  It looked back at me.  It knows we’re here now.  And it’s coming.”

Trespass

Perspective is everything.

He’d had a very busy day but had finally finished making the signs which proclaimed, “Trespassers WILL be Eaten.” He’d just made himself a nice cup of tea, and was settling down for a well-deserved snooze, when a tremendous noise shook the den; it felt like the roof was about to cave in.

“Those pesky beggars are back, making my life a misery,” he muttered as he heaved himself up. “Can’t they flippin’ read?”  He lumbered towards the light, brushing dust off and clearing his throat as he went.

“Who’s that trip trapping on my bridge?” demanded the troll.

Victim/Victor

Short and nasty. I like it.

Her lips opened up to his. The tiny facets of her resistance shattered. He held her in place with arms like a vice. What tiny amount of guilt he felt melted away when he felt her melting into him.

If they found out it would be over for him. His methods of persuasion weren’t exactly kind. He had constantly inundated her with calls and messages. And when he’d skinned that little yappy dog of hers … she’d been frightened. But he’d won –

His victory drained.

The blood poured from the knife wound in his stomach.

He stepped back.

She grinned.

Story Accepted at The Drabble!

I submitted a bit of flash fiction to The Drabble, the wordpress library for 100-word literature, and it was accepted!

They say that it should go up in four our five weeks.  Which puts it in October, which, as you can imagine, is perfect for my stuff.

Further details as I learn them.
